Mycologia Iranica is a double-blind, peer-reviewed research journal published biannually by the Iranian Mycological Society (IrMS) since 2014. The journal publishes original research articles (full papers and short articles), review articles, data analyses, checklists, and short communications covering all aspects of basic and applied mycology, including taxonomy, systematics, ecology, genetics, physiology, fungal plant pathology, biotechnology, medical mycology, lichens, mycorrhizae, secondary metabolites, biodeterioration, and bioremediation.

The journal publishes studies based on regional and local datasets, particularly when they provide new insights into broader mycological questions or contribute to a better understanding of fungal diversity and biology in underrepresented regions. The journal also welcomes studies addressing mycological questions that extend beyond their specific local or regional context.
