The isolates were identiļ¬ed as Geosmithia lavendula (Raper & Fennel I) Pitt based on its morphological and molecular properties. The genus Geosmithia (Ascomycota: Hypocreales) is belonging to mitosporic filamentous fungi with a worldwide distribution. To the best of our knowledge, G. lavendula is a new record for Iran.)
